Internet Explorer keeps turning off TLS 1.0All DoD websites require minimum security settings within your browser in order to access their resources.

For your personal computer:
There is a known issue with Internet Explorer and some add-ons that causes your browser to turn off TLS 1.0.
This usually happens after you restart/reboot your computer. This behavior has been reported to both Microsoft, and McAfee when tools such as McAfee virus scan, or other similar software are installed, with the following steps being the recommended resolution.
Microsoft has provided a knowledge bulletin with steps to reset your browser settings.

This KB has steps to manually reset IE (listed below), as well as an automated script to reset IE for you.
- Open Internet Explorer
- Click on “Tools” menu, then “Internet Options”
- Go to the “Advanced” tab
- Click “Restore advanced settings”, then click apply
- Repeat step 4 by Clicking “Restore advanced settings” again, then “Apply” a second time.
- Click “OK” and close Internet Explorer
- Re-launch Internet Explorer, and Brows to AKO (https://www.us.army.mil/)
- If un-successful, verify “Use TLS 1.0” is selected on the “Internet Options” Advanced tab from step 3
- Delete browsing history from the “General” tab of “Internet Options”

You may need to have your Windows administration team check the group policy or registry settings to ensure they are not changing Internet Explorer settings internally.
