Decrypting Emails After Obtaining a New CAC

If you obtained a new CAC you may encounter issues reading content that was encrypted or signed by your old CAC.

1. Browse to http://iase.disa.mil/pki-pke/
2. On the left click ‘End Users’
3. If you are prompted to select a certificate select your Government ID and not your Email certificate and enter your PIN.
4. Open the selection “Windows: Recovering and Installing an Old Encryption Key” and download the pdf instructions.
