Publish CAC Certificates to GAL

How to Load CAC Certificates and Publish to the GAL

Insert Common Access Card (CAC) in reader
Remove Old CAC Certificates in Internet Explorer

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Select Tool Then Internet Options

   

3. On the Content Tab Select Certificates

   

4. On the Personal Tab highlight all Certificates and select Remove

   

5. In the warning box Click Yes
6. Close the Certificates Window

   

7. On the Content Tab Select Clear SSL State
8. Click OK in the Message window
9. Close Internet Explorer

   

Load new CAC Certificates to Windows

1. From the Desktop Double Click on ActivCard Gold Icon in System Tray

   

2. The ActiveClient Console will Open

   

3. Click on Tools/Advanced/Make Certificates Available to Windows

   

4. Click Ok to Message

   

5. Your Certificates have been successfully loaded to the Machine for Windows to use.
6. Close the ActiveClient console window

Publish New Certificates to the GAL In Microsoft Outlook:

1. Open Microsoft Outlook
2. Click on Tools

   

3. Click on Options
4. Click on Security tab

   

5. Click on Settings
6. Make sure both Default boxes are checked and the Send these certificates box is checked.

   

7. Next to Signing Certificate click on Choose.

   

8. Be sure that the Class 3 EMAIL (Under Issued By) cert is highlighted and click OK ( if you do not have your CAC inserted in the Card Reader you will be prompted to do so at this time)
9. Next to Encryption Certificate click on Choose.

   

10. Be sure the Class 3 EMAIL (under Issued By) cert is highlighted and click on OK.

    

11. Click on OK under the Change Security Settings

    

12. Click on Publish to GAL

    

13. Acknowledge publishing of certificates.

    

14. If successful you will receive the confirmation
